I'd like to thank everyone that came out for our very successful September membership event at Hardywood Park Brewery.  It was great to see so many new faces representing so many facets of our local building industry.  We'd like to congratulate Connie Owens, with Glave and Holmes, as our winner of the 50/50 membership raffle!

Well, I saw my first Christmas commercial yesterday. I really think we need to pump the breaks and enjoy some autumn season before barreling headlong into the winter holidays.  Although, I am looking forward to our Holiday party on December 8th, at Cooper's Hawk winery and restaurant.  This is a new venue for us and I expect it will be worth our efforts.

We have some great events coming up this fall.  October will highlight our invitation to tour VCU's Institute of Contemporary Art. We will have to start this event at 4pm to allow for enough daylight to get everyone through the job site safely. This is a great opportunity to check out this premier facility in the heart of Richmond.  We'll all be meeting across the street at the newly renovated Depot building, which holds a fascinating story of its own.

We have another educational breakfast program planned for November held in the Old Stone Barn at Maymont. We have several great presenters joining us for breakfast at another interesting venue.  It will be well worth your effort to attend!

Lastly, I'd like to wrap up this month's presidents message with an acknowledgement to all of the membership, sponsors and directors that have earned us another Outstanding Chapter Commendation.  This award is marked is marked in Bronze which means our Richmond Chapter has earned our 5th OCC award!  This recognition, one of only eight in the country, from the CSI national institute shows us that our Richmond Chapter is continuing to provide value to our membership and community.

Well done and congratulations!
